Graphic Artist? Student? Trade Show? Computer in for Service? Whatever your needs, we have the computer to meet them, for a day, a week or longer.

MacAuthority has an extensive rental inventory of Apple Computers, displays, projectors, and many accessories. Whether you need a Mac to check your e-mail, edit with Final Cut Pro on location, or run Windows with Boot Camp, we’ve got you covered. We also have previous models compatible with older hardware and software.

All of our rental machines come with either Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger or Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, iLife ‘08 (including iTunes, iPhoto, iWeb, iMovie & iDVD) or iLife ‘06 as well as Safari, Firefox, iWork (compatible with Microsoft Office files), AppleWorks, and all major multimedia players. There are no limitations on installing any additional software that you own. In order to guarantee data privacy, all files are erased after the machine is returned to us.

All laptops are equipped with 802.11 wireless cards (Airport) and include a power adapter. All desktops come with a mouse, keyboard, and power cord. Many other accessories are available upon request.

Services

Professional Services Technicians
Equipment can be set-up by our certified technicians, ensuring a hassle-free rental experience. We can also assist with software installations, configuring user accounts and almost anything else you need. We’ll also return to take everything down after you’re done. Beyond the Metro Nashville area, contact us for a quote.

Data Backups
If you need files from another computer, we can copy its data to DVDs (up to 16GB) or an external hard drive. If the other computer is working, the charge is $49. If the other computer must be taken apart to have its data copied, the charge is $95. If you have more than 16GB of data to backup, you can either purchase an external hard drive or bring an empty FireWire external hard drive to us. (This pricing does not apply to computers with damaged hard drives.)

Delivery or Pick-up of Rental Machine
MacAuthority rentals can be delivered in any manner you desire: pick up, delivery, or we can ship. Just let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate. Please call us before noon for same-day delivery or pick-up. We ship UPS or FedEx but you must pay for the time in transit.

Rates and Conditions
Rental In Conjunction With Repair

MacAuthority performs in and out-of-warranty repairs on all Apple computers and displays. We know it's hard to be without your computer, which is why we provide flat-rate rentals to our service customers.


The following rates allow you to rent a computer for the duration of your repair, plus a 3-day grace period to return the rental after the repair is complete:

If you'd like to rent any of our other items during a repair, please contact us for the rate. If your machine is less valuable than the machine being rented, or is here for accidental damage, we require a deposit equal to the full value of the rental. Please note that repairs awaiting approval or payment for more than 3 days will be charged standard rental rates until approval is received.

 

Standard Rental

We always have computers in stock, but we suggest calling ahead if you need a specific model. To pick-up a computer, you'll need a credit card and photo ID. We require a deposit for the value of the equipment ($500-$3,000). Your deposit, minus rental charges, will be refunded to you when you return the computer. All rentals are subject to availability.
